Waratah Hills 2009 Pinot Noir

Waratah Hills 2009 Pinot Noir is an exceptional example of a beautiful Pinot Noir that will only getbetter with time. Minimal handling by the wine maker (Marcus Satchell) has preserved the intrinsic flavour of the grapes and has resulted in a sophisticated wine.

2009 was a challenging season. Low rainfall and an uncharacteristic heatwave during the ripening period resulted in a very low yielding crop. The small bunches and intensely flavoured berries has produced a deep red, complex, spiced wine with a hint of cherry flavour. Matured in high quality French oak for 10 months and bottled without fining or filtration.

Stored carefully this wine will age gracefully for at least 10 years.
