About Our Vineyard & Wines

Our Vineyard

Our vines were first established in the mid 90s with the help of revered wine producer Phillip Jones (of Phillip Wines).  Densely planted and low trellising, our planting style is reminiscence of the traditional wine region of Burgundy.

Beneath our lush grass, nutrient-rich volcanic soils and red clay provide an excellent foundation for our vines. With two-thirds of our land dedicated to Pinot Noir and a third to Chardonnay, our grapes develop a remarkable and unparalleled flavour profile, reflecting the unique terroir of our vineyard.

Situated south of the Strzelecki Ranges and north of the Bass Strait, our vineyard benefits from a cool maritime climate. This position provides a natural abundance rainfall, cooling valley winds, and generous summer sun, ideal for ripening our fruit. Making us mainland Australia’s southernmost vineyard.

Our vineyard embraces a low-intervention albeit labour-intensive approach, harnessing natural and traditional viticultural practices. Led by viticulturist Georgia Roberts, we forgo irrigation, relying solely on natural rainfall, and meticulously tend to each vine by hand. This allows our grapes to speak for themselves, resulting in a true expression of South Gippsland and the nuances of each season.

Surrounded by rolling valleys and coastal plains, our home of Gippsland provides an iconic landscape for producing wines - unlike anywhere else in Victoria. Full of brilliant producers and diverse microclimates, Gippsland is now widely regarded as one of the most exciting wine regions in Australia, capturing the attention of wine enthusiasts and critics alike.

Our Waratah Hills Wines

Our estate-grown, single-vineyard range brilliantly showcases our vineyard’s unique terroir. Crafted exclusively from fruit grown on our Fish Creek property, our Waratah Hills wines include vintages of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Blanc de Noir, and Pinot Rosé.

Our Prom Road Wines

Our more flexible and playful range, our Prom Road wines nicely complement our more traditional varieties in our Cellar Door. Sourced from various regions - including the Yarra Valley, King Valley, Riverina region, and East Gippsland - our Prom Road wines are made for universal occasions, celebrations, and palates.

Our Fish Creek Gin

We’ve partnered with boutique distillery Bathtub Gin to create our one-of-a-kind Fish Creek Gin. Following initial distilling, we then introduce bunches of our Pinot Noir grapes from our recent harvest, making each year’s bottle completely different and unique - and delicious. Sold exclusively in our Cellar Door and online.
