The Vineyard

Our vines were first established in the mid 90s with the help of the iconic and revered wine producer, Phillip Jones (of Bass Phillip Wines). Densely planted and low trellising, our planting style is reminiscent of the traditional wine region of Burgundy.

Beneath our lush, green grass and the layers of happy worms, you’ll discover nutrient-rich volcanic soils and red clay, which provide a brilliant foundation and unparalleled distinction to our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With two thirds of our property dedicated to Pinot Noir and a third to Chardonnay.

 
 
 
 

South of the Strzelecki Ranges and north of the Bass Strait, our vines enjoy a cool, maritime climate. This offers exciting conditions to grow Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in low-intervention practices, thanks to the abundance of rainfall, cooling valley winds, and generous summer sun.

Surrounded by rolling valleys and green, coastal plains, we enjoy an iconic landscape to grow our vines - unlike anywhere else in Victoria. Long overlooked (with the exception of local farmers who’ve long recognised the areas’s beauty and lushness), the region of South Gippsland is now widely regarded as one of the best Pinot Noir producing areas in Australia with countless eyes paying attention.

Our Waratah Hills Wines

This range is all about crafting delicious, single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with fruits grown on our estate. Lead by viticulturist Georgia Roberts, our team employ more traditional and sustainable viticultural practices - including the use of natural bio-stimulants and a rainfall-only watering program.

Tending to each row and vine by hand, this low-intervention albeit hands-on approach allows us to enjoy brilliant expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Including vintages of Blanc de Noir and Rosé. With each year a delicious reflection of the terra and the season it ripened through. 

 

Our Fish Creek Gin

We’ve partnered with the boutique distillery, Bathtub Gin, to create our Fish Creek gin. Once they’re underway distilling the initial botanicals, we then introduce bunches of our Pinot Noir grapes collected from the last harvest, making each year’s bottle completely different. And delicious. Sold only in our Cellar Door and online, you won’t find this gin anywhere else.

 

Our Prom Road Wines

Our more flexible and playful range, our Prom Road wines nicely complement our more formal, single-vineyard Waratah Hills varieties. Sourced from various regions - including the Yarra Valley, King Valley, Riverina region, and East Gippsland - our Prom Road wines are made for universal occasions, celebrations, and palettes. Our range currently includes Prosecco, Shiraz, and Pinot Noir, as well as our Picnic White and Picnic Red varieties.
